As the global outlook for the mining industry is set to improve this year, what challenges do women in mining industry face?
That was the theme of the Conference and Exhibition organized by ”MINING INVESTMENT ASIA 2017” held recently (28 – 31 March 2017) at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, Singapore.
Desy Wilson represented MNE and held a number of discussions with leading industry figures about the steps, benefits, strategies and best practices to encourage greater gender diversity in the Indonesian mining industry.
Also discussed was the need for greater collaboration, partnership & business expansion in the overall Asian mining industry. This in tandem with the global trend of increasing the number of women on boards and at senior executive level in Asia.
These issues really were the hub of the conference, and provided an overdue reality check for Mining Companies in South East Asia for 2017/2018
“The Women in Mining Day” conference was attended by women whose work involves providing business and support for mining firms from Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, Mongolia, China, India and Singapore.
